A few details confirmed ahead of time can make your appointment easier. Here’s where to start.

ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION

Bring identification
we can verify.

Bring your original identification to the appointment. If you have questions about a particular ID, ask before the visit.

Tennessee driver’s license or state ID
U.S. passport
Another state’s driver’s license or ID, subject to the requirements below
U.S. military ID, subject to the requirements below
Foreign passport, subject to the requirements below

For acknowledgments, listed identification must be current or issued within the past five years. Out-of-state IDs, military IDs, and foreign passports must have a photograph, physical description, signature, and identifying number. Foreign passports also require the immigration stamp specified by Tennessee law.

If your ID is expired, unusual, or does not meet these conditions, contact me before booking. Personal knowledge or a qualifying credible witness may be an option when legally permitted.

Signers & witnesses

Tell me who needs notarization and whether your document requires witnesses. Witness services start at $15 and must be arranged in advance. Confirm witness requirements with your attorney or document recipient.

Location & timing

Confirm a suitable meeting place, the service fee, and the separate travel charge before your appointment.
